(Strathroy, ON) – Over the past month it has been remarkable to see the support the community at large has shown the Middlesex Hospital Alliance team during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital (SMGH) and Four Counties Health Services (FCHS) are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support from our communities and local businesses. MHA team members have been working tirelessly in a spirit of collaboration and determination to help move from pandemic preparation to management of this virus.
“We are humbled as the ongoing expressions of support and appreciation mean so very much to our staff and physicians,” stated Todd Stepanuik, MHA President & CEO. “From letters of appreciation to staff and physicians, to the social media posts of support, the parades of vehicles, to the children who have painted rocks with messages of thanks and inspiration to the signs of encouragement, for the donations of PPE. The MHA has been overwhelmed by the heartfelt wishes and acts of kindness. The unwavering support has been amazing. Thank you for keeping our staff and physicians in your thoughts and in your prayers.”
Over the past few weeks, a number of people have asked what they can do to help. If you are in a position to do so, donate to the hospital financially by supporting our two hospital foundations. Also, you can consider emailing a message of encouragement through the MHA Shout Out initiative at email@example.com. We ask the community to continue to practice social distancing, stay home, wash your hands frequently, and follow the many other directions given by Public Health. These preventative measures are making a real difference in the volume of infections and those who require hospitalization in our community.
Stay safe and stay positive.
