The Middlesex Hospital Alliance (MHA) Board of Directors is seeking a Chief of Staff who is an innovative physician leader who will bring strong interpersonal skills and a consensus-building leadership style to their interaction with both the FCHS and SMGH professional staff, the Board, staff and hospital leadership.

The Chief of Staff is accountable to the MHA Board of Directors for the leadership of the professional staff, to ensure that the quality of care given to the patients of our two hospital sites is in accordance with policies established by the Board, and with MHA’s mission, vision and values. The Chief of Staff is an active member of the senior leadership team who plays an integral leadership role at MHA by providing oversight to both the Four Counties Health Services (Newbury) and Strathroy-Middlesex General Hospital professional staff. The Chief of Staff will have the responsibility to undertake the review of the physician medical leadership model at both hospital sites, and make recommendations on the best model and privilege structure, to support a culture of collaboration and seamless patient care at the MHA.

A respected clinician leader, the Chief of Staff will have strong organizational and administrative skills, and is a systems thinker. The successful candidate will understand the importance of embracing partnership and collaboration at all levels, including internally, locally and regionally. This is an excellent opportunity to assume a pivotal role in this highly respected organization.

To be successful, the Chief of Staff will work closely with MHA’s Chief Executive Officer and senior leadership team. As the ideal candidate, the Chief of Staff must be able to build and maintain relationships based on trust, respect, and transparency, and be seen by their peers as an effective collaborator and a champion of quality patient-centered care.

To be eligible, you must be currently registered and licensed (or eligible for license) in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and experience practicing in a community and/or rural hospitals will serve you well in this leadership role. Previous leadership experience is preferred.

General Internal Medicine Specialist Physician with Intensivist Duties – Middlesex Hospital Alliance, Strathroy, Ontario – 2 positions

Middlesex Hospital Alliance (MHA), is made up of two partner sites, Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, a medium size community hospital located just west of London, Ontario and Four Counties Health Services, a rural hospital, located midway between London and Chatham in the beautiful southwest Ontario region. Tertiary care services are close-by at London Health Sciences Centre.  

The Middlesex Hospital Alliance is seeking to expand its’ current Consultative Internal Medicine hospital practice to better support the ICU/ER/Hospitalist programs. There is an opportunity to be an MRP if desired.  We are seeking two (2) additional General Internal Medicine Specialists who would be expected to run a four bed ICU to join the existing team to provide internal medicine and intensive care services.  Practice opportunities for candidates with specialty certification in specific areas can also be explored.    

An Internal Medicine Specialist who can fill the above role and is interested in practicing at the Middlesex Hospital Alliance (MHA), will find:

OphthalmologistLocum Opportunity  -Middlesex Hospital Alliance, Strathroy, Ontario

The Middlesex Hospital Alliance – Strathroy Memorial General Hospital is seeking a Locum Ophthalmologist to provide care for a variety of ophthalmology conditions and diseases.  As a hospital with Quality Based Procedures (QBP) funding for approximately 600 cataracts, we are seeking an ophthalmologist who has a primary interest in cataract surgery.  The term of this locum is 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension.
