TEMPORARY PART-TIME ADULT DAY CENTRE ASSISTANT – for approximately 2 years
Adult Day Care Department

Duties:
• Communicate effectively and appropriately with the clients of the ADP to cultivate an atmosphere of friendship, enthusiasm and belonging
• Work harmoniously and effectively with others and promote the philosophy of the ADP in the community and health care field
• Assist ADP Coordinator and Program Assistant with programs/duties as required.
• Position available immediately

Qualifications:
• Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and 2 COVID 19 vaccinations
• Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 12 months
• Diploma or certificate in a health care related field
• PSW (Personal Support Worker) certificate preferred
• Experience with complex care an asset
• Strong assessment, communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience working with seniors an asset
• Current certificate in CPR/First Aid – renewed annually
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a interdisciplinary team
• Palliative Care, Mechanical Lift, Whirlpool experience an asset
• Demonstrated commitment in ongoing learning and professional development
• Demonstrated excellence in attendance
• Understanding and use of good body mechanics
• Basic computer skills in a Windows environment
