Reduced Full-Time SONOGRAPHER – Ultrasound Department – 60 hours/pay

Job Duties
- Scheduled to work all shifts including dayshift/evening/weekend
- Participate in weekend rotation
- Managing a workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Responsible for efficient and safe operation of the all related equipment in accordance with safety procedures
- Perform all General Radiology, Portable exams, and OR procedures
- Perform all scans independently
- Assesses the patient’s condition prior to, during and after procedures; maintains awareness of procedural complications and reactions during and after procedures; recognizes the conditions requiring immediate attention and initiates appropriate response; documents procedures to ensure precise and accurate procedural records are maintained
- Exercising sound professional judgment, using best practice guidelines
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive environment for all through compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures
- Address and resolve minor issues in a productive, respectful manner
- Assist with day to day patient and staff scheduling changes as required
- Collaborate with Senior technologist to mentor new staff & students
Job Qualifications
- Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox) and proof of 2 Covid 19 vaccinations.
- Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 3 months
- Enthusiastic and committed sonographer who must be a graduate from a Canadian Ultrasound program or equivalent
- Sonography Canada certification
- CMRTO certification
- Minimum 2 years experience with Breast Assessment within a hospital setting
- Work scheduled shifts, while coordinating functions to optimize efficiency and deliver exceptional quality of care in a progressive department
- Comprehensive knowledge of theory and practice for diagnostic medical sonography procedures including abdominal, obstetrical/gynecological, eFTS certification, breast, pelvic, peripheral vascular and small parts.
- Assist radiologists in the performance of Ultrasound-related special procedures including biopsies and localizations
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills in the assessment of complex pathologies
- Broad knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic sonographic and medical imaging equipment in compliance with departmental standards
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and in a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated superior organizational skills to prioritize tasks in collaboration with others
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and self-directed learning
- Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and deal effectively with clients and their families, co-workers, physicians and other members of the health care team
- Understanding and demonstration of good body mechanics with ability to perform the physical requirements of the job
