TEMPORARY PART TIME DIETARY AIDE/COOK – for approximately 12 months
Nutrition and Food Services
Job Duties
Position available February 2022 |
7.5 hour shifts including weekends and statutory holiday rotation |
Serving on the patient tray line making sure appropriate texture and portions are givenOperating dishwashing equipment and food production equipmentPortioning food for patients/cafeteriaDelivering food carts to the wards and returning them to the dishwashing area Manual pot washingUnpacking food supplies as requiredPerforming cafeteria, vending and catering dutiesSetting up menu cardsOccasional cooking duties, preparing food following standard recipes and safe food handling practices Other related duties, as requested |
Job Qualifications:
- Previous experience cooking in a Food Services/Hospitality setting
- Food Handlers certificate required
- Demonstrated knowledge of Nutrition, and Safe Food Handling Guidelines
- Work in a team environment to ensure efficiency and Hospital standards are maintained
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Self-directed
- Demonstrated excellence in attendance
- Basic computer skills in a “Windows” environment, including Outlook and Word
- Understanding and use of good body mechanics
- Demonstrated ability to lift equipment and supplies weighting up to 16 kg
- Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and proof of 2 COVID-19 vaccinations
- Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 3 months
