The MHA Board of Directors is proud to announce the completion of 250 Total Joint Replacements (TJR) for the 2012-13 fiscal year.
Early in the fall of 2012, the MHA received its first annual Health Service Funding Reform letter, identifying the approval of funding for 203 Total Hip and Knee Joint replacement procedures for the fiscal year. In mid December, approval of an additional 47 total joint replacements through the South West Local Health Integration Network (SW LHIN) Priority Fund was received and the challenge accepted by the MHA to complete these additional joints by March 31, 2013.
The MHA Board wishes to acknowledge and commend the significant efforts of all medical staff and support staff throughout the hospital for this achievement. By working together, you demonstrated the MHA’s mission, “To provide the healthcare we would expect for our own families”.
The MHA Board also acknowledges the positive impact this has had for many patients who were waiting for Total Joint Replacement. “We thank you and your families for accommodating the scheduling changes and wish you a speedy recovery”, said Cheryl Waters, Chair, MHA Board of Directors.
The additional volumes completed demonstrates the MHA’s ability and ongoing commitment to perform these volumes, maintain excellent quality outcomes, reduce wait times and increase the funded volumes allocation for many years to come.
On behalf of the MHA Board of Directors, “Thank you for a job well done!” said Waters.
