COVID Outbreak Declared Over at Four Counties Health Services – Acute Care Nursing Unit

(Newbury, ON) The Middlesex Hospital Alliance (MHA) is very pleased to announce that the COVID-19 outbreak on the Acute Care Nursing unit at Four Counties Health Services has been declared over by the Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU), effective March 29, 2022.

The teamwork and collaboration required across both MHA sites and between departments was evident during the outbreak. MHA extends sincere thanks to all staff and physicians for their continued dedication to ensure all patients receive safe, high quality care. We are appreciative of the MHA management and Infection Prevention and Control teams for their expertise and close collaboration with the Middlesex-London Health Unit, which helped bring this outbreak to a close.

While the outbreak resolution is welcome, at all our MHA hospitals we will we continue to be diligent and maintain infection prevention and control strategies to keep our patients, staff and physicians safe. This includes active screening, hand hygiene, distancing and use of personal protective equipment, including masks for patients and visitors.

To the community, MHA expresses gratitude for ongoing support throughout the pandemic. Despite public health mandates across the province loosening, the MHA encourages people to continue to be mindful that the pandemic is still not over, and it is important to protect yourselves and those around you from COVID-19.
