Influenza A Outbreak Declared on FCHS’ Acute Care Nursing Unit – Resolved November 25, 2025

November 18, 2025 – This respiratory season, ensuring the safety of our patients, families/visitors, staff, and physicians remains our top priority. Across the region, respiratory virus activity continues to rise, and MHA has identified several cases of Influenza A within the ACNU at Four Counties Health Services which has resulted in the Middlesex–London Health Unit (MLHU) officially declaring an Influenza A outbreak in this unit.

The MHA is working closely with MLHU to ensure all appropriate precautions are in place. Our Infection Prevention and Control Specialist, along with MHA leadership teams, are monitoring the situation closely and adjusting measures as needed.

Important Information For Our Patients/Families/Visitors

The unit remains open for admissions, and 1 visitor (at a time) per patient are still permitted. However, masks are required at all times for all MHA staff, physicians, and families/visitors while on FCHS’s ACNU unit.

Thank you for following masking requirements, washing your hands, and staying home if you’re feeling unwell. If you have not yet received your seasonal influenza vaccine, please consider doing so.

Thank you for your ongoing efforts to keep our patients, staff, and community safe. Should you have any questions about this outbreak, please contact Krista Shea, MHA’s Chief Nursing Officer at krista.shea@mha.tvh.ca.
