The MHA’s Patient and Family Advisory Council

What Is a Patient Family Advisory Council?

At the Middlesex Hospital Alliance, we’re committed to putting patients and families at the heart of everything we do. That means seeing healthcare through their eyes and learning from their experiences.

Ourβ€―Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) was established in 2022 andβ€―is the voice of those we care forβ€”bringing forward the unique insights, experiences, and perspectives of patients and families to help shape and improve the care we provide.

The MHA’s PFAC has helped us with many important projects, and are regularly called on to assess our policies and hospital procedures and materials from a patient/family perspective. One of their most significant contributions was in supporting the development of the MHA’s Patient Declaration of Values which provides important guidance around the partnership between our hospitals and our patients and families throughout a patient’s healthcare journey.

If you have any questions pertaining to the work of the MHA’s PFAC or would like to join the Council, please email us at: patientrelations@mha.tvh.ca
