Statement – MHA Acknowledges June as Pride Month

Throughout the month of June, the Middlesex Hospital Alliance (MHA) will be celebrating Pride Month and the rich diversity of our 2SLGBTQIA+ (two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual) community. MHA is proud to be flying a Pride flag above Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital and Four Counties Health Services all month long to declare our organizational commitment to inclusivity, diversity, respect, dignity, and equality.

At MHA, every patient is a valued member of our community and is deserving of the respect, dignity and standard of care that we would expect for our own family. We are deeply committed to ensuring that systemic and discriminatory barriers do not affect the healthcare provided at our hospitals and that our 2SLGBTQIA+ patients feel safe, welcome, and respected in our facilities every time they visit.

The MHA has created a Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) working group which ensures MHA leaders receive comprehensive JEDI training and education, and lead and guide our efforts to create an environment where all feel welcome, safe and free from discrimination. The MHA will also have a booth at the Strathroy Pride in the Park celebration on July 6, 2024, and we invite you to come and celebrate with us there!
