Strathroy, ON – Tuesday, September 10, 2024 –
Dear Patients of Dr. Sanders,
Unfortunately, Dr. Sanders recently passed away unexpectedly. The entire MHA family is grieving alongside the community at the loss of this well-respected physician.
The hospital is currently in the process of calling patients to cancel any upcoming appointments that were scheduled with Dr. Sanders in our ambulatory care clinic.
Dr. Sanders’ practice was his own private practice, even though it took place within the walls of Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. As a private practice, the hospital does not have access to Dr. Sanders’ patient records. Please expect further information to follow from his office on how you will be able to access your health records.
To best support your medical needs, we recommend the following:
- Reach out to your family doctor/primary care provider to discuss your medical care and if need be, ask for a referral to another internist or pain specialist
- If you don’t have a family doctor/primary care provider, you can register for one online at Health Care Connect or by calling 1-800-445-1822, and/or
- Visit a walk-in clinic for any health concerns.
- If you are having a medical emergency, please go to your closest emergency department or call 911.
To help ensure uninterrupted access to your medications, or if you have questions about your prescription renewals, speak to your family physician, or to your pharmacy as they may be able to temporarily extend your regular prescriptions.
Additionally, the Ontario Chronic Pain Network has produced a patient self-management and educational website for those with chronic pain: https://poweroverpain.ca/. And for physicians or healthcare providers receiving pain inquiries who require further guidance on pain management matters, the Ontario eConsult Program is available for timely replies from pain specialists.
Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to email patientrelations@mha.tvh.ca. Please check back on our website for further updates.
Sincerely,
The MHA Team.
