Strathroy, ON – The Ontario government is investing more than $6.4 million through the Hospital Infrastructure Renewal Fund (HIRF) to support critical infrastructure improvements at Middlesex Hospital Alliance (MHA) in 2026-27, Lambton—Kent—Middlesex MPP Steve Pinsonneault announced today.
The investment includes $821,000 for Four Counties Health Services (FCHS) in Newbury to continue upgrades to the hospital’s fire panel and paging system, building on work that began in 2025-26. It also includes $5.6 million for Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital (SMGH) to support capital infrastructure improvements that will enhance the hospital environment for patients, families and staff.
The funding is part of Ontario’s continued investment in renewing hospital infrastructure to ensure patients and healthcare providers have access to safe, modern facilities.

Planning activities, construction, and communication with the community for the funded projects will continue throughout 2026-27.
