The Ministry of Energy created a O. Reg. 397/11 under the Green Energy Act, 2009. The regulation requires Broader Public Sector (BPS) organizations to create conservation and demand management plans.
Under Ontario Regulation 507/18, all public agencies are required to report annually on energy use and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The agencies are also required to prepare and make public updated five-year energy conservation and demand management plans.
Data collected through the regulation will be useful and informative to the BPS organizations themselves, to the Province, key stakeholders and Ontarians
